Collecting the children from school
The staff at kids club go into their designated areas to meet the children. After the school bell rings and the teachers send the children on their list to the members of staff (nursery reception and Y1 children are met at their classroom doors).
All children are given a fluorescent tabard to wear and after they have been registered we then form a ‘walking bus’ to the community centre.
Breakfast club
We open at 7.30 am but offer an early morning drop off from 7am by prior arrangement. Children have the choice of cereal including porridge and toast. We are encouraging children to brush their teeth following their breakfast before we leave for school. Each child has their own toothbrush wrapped individually in a plastic bag. The kitchen closes at 8.20 to allow us to tidy up and get the children ready to leave for school at 8.40.
All children are given a fluorescent tabard to wear and we then form a ‘walking bus’ to school. At school we walk round every classroom dropping the children off to their classes on route.
At Kids Club
Once we arrive at the kids club the children have access to a wide range of age appropriate toys and equipment. To list a few we have board games, creative corner, books, home corner, dolls, construction, cars, Nintendo 64, Nintendo Wii and tablets for games (without internet) TV, films and music. We have 2 large halls and one of them provides opportunity for the children to ‘let off steam’ with football, basketball, badminton and general charging around!! The children are offered a healthy snack and drinks are always available.
We always encourage the children to have something to eat and drink and though we will cater for special dietary needs we can’t always cater for ‘picky eaters’.
Please note – the fees you pay are for school collection and childcare only, the snack is a bonus and not intended to replace the family evening meal.
We have an enclosed play area outside the centre where the children enjoy sand and water play as well as other activities. We encourage children to play out in the fresh air as often as the weather/daylight allows.
